If we want to figure out the difference between traditional projectors and smart projectors, we should first understand the nature of the two, that is, what they are.
Let's talk about a traditional projector first. It is just a projection box, which needs to be connected to a computer or other equipment by means of video and audio cables to display the screen content on the computer or other equipment on the screen.
The smart projector is much more convenient. It does not need to rely on data cables to connect to projection but connects to mobile phones, computers, tablets, and other devices through Bluetooth, WIFI, etc., so as to obtain the images that need to be projected. Not only that, but you can also directly watch movies, TV series, etc. through the operating system built into the projector box.
A. The biggest difference between smart projectors and traditional projectors is that smart projectors have systems while traditional projectors do not. In layman's terms, for example, a smart projector is equivalent to a complete computer, which can be used directly after plugging in the power supply; while a traditional projector is only equivalent to a display, which must have an external signal input, such as an external set-top box, computer or Only smart boxes and the like can project images.
From this point of view, a smart projector with an operating system is much more advanced in function than a traditional projector.
B. Another important difference between smart projectors and traditional projectors is the difference in light sources. Generally speaking, most smart projectors use DLP projection technology and LED light sources, while traditional projectors mainly use bulb machines.
Compared with the LED light source, the advantage of the light bulb machine is that it has higher brightness, lower requirements on the environment, and can perform well in a relatively bright environment. However, traditional projectors mostly use high-pressure mercury lamp bulbs, which generate more heat and have an average lifespan. Says only 2000-4000 hours, the bulb needs to be replaced periodically. The smart projectors that use LED light sources are not as bright as light bulb projectors, but they have more natural color performance, less heat generation, and a longer lifespan. Basically, there is no need to consider the life of the light machine.
C. The connection methods are also different. Traditional projectors have many interfaces, including VGA interface, audio output interface, video input interface, HDMI, USB interface, LAN port, control serial port, etc. The connections are all connected through various transmission lines, which need to be connected to the power supply, signal terminal (computer, set-top box) And smart boxes, and the like), audio, and other external devices. The smart projector comes with its own system. It does not need to be connected to other devices. It only needs to be connected to the network, and it can be used directly after booting. Generally, there are only USB and HDMI interfaces. Generally speaking, if you don't understand technology, smart projection is the best choice. If you are technically savvy, traditional projectors can play more tricks.
D. Some other differences are other auxiliary functions, such as keystone correction. Traditional projectors generally need to be adjusted manually, but now some high-end smart projectors basically support automatic keystone correction, which is smarter, so the use of smart projectors will be more flexible.
